George Zimmerman et comment fonctionne la "white supremacy". By Ezili Dantò

  Un excellent article sur la question du racisme dans l'acquittement de Zimmerman, l'homme qui a assassiné l'adolescent Noir qui rentrait chez son pèr, un paquet de bonbons à la main.

Un pays qui a vu naître Jacques Roumain ne peut pas mourir a écrit Jacuqes Stephen Alexis dans la préface à La Montagne ensorcelée de Jacques Roumain.

Pour le paraphraser, disons qu'un pays qui a des femmes de la qualité de Ezili Dantò ne peut pas mourir.

Avocate, artiste, poète, militante,  essayiste, Ezuli , de son nom à l 'état civil, Marguerite Laurent , porte la générosité d'Haïti et sa combativité.

Je n'en dis pas plus de peur que ses chevilles n'enflent... dans la mesure où elle en a bien besoin pour tout le boulot qu'elle accomplit.

D'ailleurs, elle n'est pas la seule femme  à prendre en charge cette  belle image d'Haïti.

Il y a, par exemple, Lucie Tondrau, récemment élue à la  tête de la mairie de North Miami, dont on peut lire un très bel entretien  sur Canalplus Haïti ici:link

Cependant,  rares sont ces femmes "metrès la rouze" qui additionnent  tant de talents auxquels s'ajoutent une réflexion politique et un engagement sur le terrain.

Pour moi, quand je  vois la finesse des propos de Lucie Tondreau, ceux d' Ezili Dantò, mon coeur bat de joie, parce que je sais que nous avons du répondant, malgré l'état de délabrement actuel de notre intelligentsia en temps d'occupation.

J'en profite pour envoyer un Ochan à toutes ces femmes formidables, de Catherine Flon qui a cousu le drapeau national à toutes  celles, inconnues des media, qui bataillent ferme, chacune dans leurs domaines respectifs..

Et, je n'oublie pas  de saluer mon amie, l'économiste Jesi Chancy Manigat, récemment emportée par la maladie qui a travaillé sans relâche depuis son retour au pays natal en 1986 à l'amélioration des conditions de vie des femmes désargentées du milieu rural et urbain.

George Zimmerman is Peruvian white. As Haitians, we know the hard way, how the majority of Latin Americans treat the Black or the Native indigenous. 

We live, on an Island with Dominicans where the Bateys are where Haitians are enslaved. Most folks born in Mexico or Latin American countries are defined as Hispanic and that term is only defined as "non-white" in the US.

"Hispanic" outside of the US generally mean descendants of European whites from Spain no matter their skin tone who identify in aesthetics, ideals, habits and nationality as WHITE. And that whiteness identification makes them supposedly superior to Black Brazilians, Black Peruvians as well as Haitians.

There was a time when the European tribes looked upon the Irish as the "Blacks" of Europe or before the end of the Cold War, where even some Slavics, Romanians or some Russians weren't quite "white" enough. But America needs those immigrant "white" numbers up and identifications with white supremacy going in order to keep the majority in the world from rising against its tyranny. Divide to conquer.

Of course in America needing the numbers, the Irish became white. Soon though, as America needs numbers more, all the Latinos along with Japanese, will be categorized as whites? Zimmerman used the confusion to alternatively identify himself as Hispanic and white. Depending on who his family wanted to manipulate. Much has been forgotten about Zimmerman's many inconsistencies, and the attempt to have his wife hide monies raised from the white communities for his legal defense.
