Subject: Nouvo teknoloji pou aprantisaj aktif syans ak matematik ann Ayiti

Dear all,   Bonjou tout moun,   (ENGLISH BELOW)

Onè!

N ap anonse atelye "MIT-Haiti" ki pral fèt Pòtoprens, 16-19 janvye 2013, sou bon jan metòd ak zouti sou aprantisaj aktif nan syans ak matematik.   N ap chache patisipasyon pwofesè k ap anseye syans, jeni ak matematik ann Ayiti---pwofesè ki deja maton nan disiplin sa yo e ki vle aprann sèvi ak nouvo teknoloji pou aprantisaj ki baze sou esperimantasyon ak rechèch (aba "pa kè"!).   Nou espere pwofesè sa yo ap ka transmèt nouvo metòd yo bay etidyan yo ansanm ak lòt pwofesè epi y ap ka ede nou evalye itilizasyon nouvo materyèl sa yo nan sal de klas.  Ki fè, n ap chache pwofesè ki gen gwo nivo nan syans, jeni oswa matematik e ki kwè nan pouvwa kreyòl la kòm enstriman endispansab pou aprantisaj aktif ann Ayiti. N ap jwenn plis esplikasyon, ajanda epi kondisyon pou enskripsyon nan sit sa a:

ENGLISH:

We're pleased to spread the word about our MIT-Haiti workshop series in Port-au-Prince, January 16-19, 2013, on active-learning methods and tools for science, engineering and math.  Our ideal participants---to be selected based on their credentials---are Haitian professors in Haiti, with advanced degrees in engineering, science or mathematics, as relevant for the contents of each workshop.  These professors will, in turn, be able to share these contents (technologies for active-learning methods) with other faculty and their students, and they will participate in the evaluation of these new innovative resources in their classrooms.   Therefore we're looking for professors in Haiti with strong teaching skills in math, engineering or science and who believe in the key role of Haitian Creole for the promotion of open education and active learning in Haiti, learning via collaborative inquiry, hands-on and minds-on---as a necessary antidote to the old tradition based almost exclusively on rote-learning ("pa kè," in Kreyòl).

More information on registration requirements and on the workshops are available at:

http://mit.edu/mithaiti/www/MIT-Haiti15-20january2013.pdf

and on the MIT-Haiti website at:

http://haiti.mit.edu

Professors who are interested should send their CVs and copies of their diplomas to  mit-haiti@mit.edu. And they must complete an enrollment survey at this site:

A recent article in the Nouvelliste (Haiti's main newspaper) describes some of the rationale for our Initiative:

Bòn ane 2013!
